  • Well, I believe offering at church is just a skam to take people's money..kind of like the indulgences demanded by the Roman Catholic Churches back in the day of Constantine...I would eventually tell on him simply because theft is against the law.. This was an opinion question...if you are going to give bad ratings give a good reason...
  • No citizens arrest, but I would definitely confront them about it. If they continued, then I would tell the pastor to keep an eye out.
  • After the offering has been passed, quietly get up, go back and inform an adult usher who will inform a church officer who will probably call the police. If this parasite is doing it this Sunday he's probably doing it every Sunday. When someone breaks the law, you call the cops. Not doing so is how the Catholic church got into so much trouble--they tried to handle numerous child-molesting cases themselves, which they were not competent to do, instead of turning each molester over to the police. You probably wouldn't see this, though. Usually such thieves join churches and work themselves into positions where they can embezzle. When that is done, they should be prosecuted, sentenced, and punished, because the only thing preventing such crimes is the fear of punishment. If you forgive someone who hasn't even repented, you just ensure that he will learn nothing from the experience and go on to victimize others, namely, the donors.
  • If it's a Christian church, I forgive him. Then I arrest him. No, that doesn't sound right. Arrest, then forgive. On the surface, that sounds better, but not if I think about it. OK, I stand up, tell everybody what I saw, so they can all forgive him too. Does this come under ecclesiastical law or civil law?
  • No but I would probably say something to the neighbor
  • you replace the money that was taken, then after church talk to him and see why he needs the money, if he had asked the pastor for the money he would have gotten it anyways
  • No, instead of putting my money in the plate I would hand it straight to the neighbour, perhaps they really need it?
  • If your brother sins, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. If he will not listen, take one or two others along so that: "every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses". If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. - Matthew 18:15-17 People! Do not immediately hand such a person over to the authorities! You completely miss an opportunity for God's blessing in your life and in the life of that person to take place. You also are not doing unto others as you would have them do unto you if you are unaware of the complete context within which this sin is being executed on behalf of the thief. Take the Matthew passage and plug the values into the slots: The guy stealing = your brother The one or two others = friends or relatives of the person. The church = The church leaders The treating him as a pagan or tax collector = turning him over to the police. Jesus is Lord. May God bless all of you.
  • I wouldn't make a citizen's arrest in any situation except the worst, it's too risky to do that for so little reason. Just report it to the church and the police to have him searched for.
