The Day of Wine and Roses is a favorite, although the movie associated with it is heartbreaking. Girl from Ipanema is about that era, not sure of the year. Walk like a man (sing like a girl) :) is about that era, although I don't have the stones to carry it off ;) Patsy Cline's "Crazy" and I Fall to Pieces were slightly before I was born, but I love to sing them. Peggy Lee's Big Spender was slightly after, but it is one of the earliest songs I can remember hearing on the radio. Try to Remember (the Kind of September) is an early one I remember too, and I think a female could pull that off. Thanks for the question, by the way. I have spent the last hour listening to music from my early childhood on youtube and loving it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
