  • Normally I cry and swear while tossing and turning, but maybe that's just me. But, now I have Codeine!
  • Get up. Go on the Internet, (Usually AB) or play Vid games.
  • Suffer. Done it a few times, just hope you get so delirious you can forget the pain long enough to get lost in a daydream, which will hopefully lead to a real dream
  • Take a pill that will either help the pain or knock me out. Loritab usually works for both.
  • I soak in a nice hot tub and take a pain reliever/sleeping combo pill if the pain is really bad.
  • Take as many pills as I can possibly take, and lay there, praying that I might get just enough relief to "drift in and out, the rest of the night"! This is, quite often, a reality for me, unfortunately. :(
  • That is what Percocet was made for, Merfish.
  • Take a Percocet & 2 Tylenol PM's. I have 3 herniated discs in my neck so this is a nightly ritual for me.
  • I normally take a pain medication and it helps :-)
  • cant believe no one suggested drink till you pass out. actually, depending how much alcohol you drink, a couple of drinks to relax the muscles helps me out.
  • Get a hot bath with epsom salts prepared, have some soothing music and canddle light and sock up your tight body. Get a warm heated blanket on your bed, use a meditation tape while you are in bed and it should sooth your pain. I would recommend an infrared lamb also, on the painful area, as well as plenty of massages. They all help. Also a banana with a warm glass of milk, prior to going to bed, or when you wake up, assists you to go back to sleep. Rolfing helps your body release held in pain, but not many Rolfers around and it is painful but on the long run you will be getting rid of your pain. If you try to get rid of the pain with anaelgesics, and pills, it will only come back for it suppresses it. Pain will not kill you, if it is for healing. Go through it, and each time it lessens and integrates. What you avoid, runs you.
  • jack up on morphin half a bottle of vicoin and shit loas of oxy then wash it down with lots and lot of jin! ah the beauties of an infarction!
  • well, depending on what type of pain you are in. I'm a Physical Therapist Assistant and I use cryotherapy (cold packs) for majority of people in severe pain. The cold packs block the pain signals to your brian. Also try taking some over the counter medication to help ease your pain so you can get some sleep.
  • I take some iburprophen and that usually helps.
  • do what im doing right now - too much pain to sleep, dont sleep that night. the next night you will sleep, and just make sure youre not gonna be putting your life in danger (i.e. driving long distances, doing extreme sports etc) in the sleep-dep days. i work in a shop during the day, and you can pretty much do that with no brain, but anything more mentally challenging than that may stop you using this method...also, learn your bodies rhythym (circadian rhythym that is). throughout the day, there will be a time when you are most awake and when you are most asleep, and these usually coincide with the time that you are warmest (for awake) and coldest (for asleep) body-temp wise. so! figure out when you feel cold most often, and try to plan your day around sleeping then. good luck.
  • Ijust had a double spinal fusion and the Dr. put two cages in my back. I am in severe pain most of the night . I get up ang get a nicee glass of iced tea, grab my rice cakes with peanut butter and hit the internet , you know, I found out there are people out there that have allot more problems than I do and it gets me out of myself.. so thats my pain medicine, knowing that there is always someone out there that has it a little more worse than I do.Then I thank God for making my problems so little.
  • I usually get on the internet, watch tv or play a video game to get my mind off my pain and make me more tired.
  • basically, just suffer. i had a car wreck mid december of 08 and a c1/c2 spinal fusion a couple months ago. i'm so exhausted most of the time from not sleeping well since december.
  • Play on Ab, like I am doing now. :-) I will take Tylenol PM, if it has been a few nights in a row
  • The few times that ever happens it is usually some kind of tummyache. I just kinda force sleep. *shrug* It works.
