I build my own. Then tune it to a snarling beast
-
If I could I'd build it myself. But, the next one I'm going to have is going to be built. This one sucks balls. A little advice for you. Don't ever buy a HP computer.

If you don't know what you're doing, don't custom build it. Go here for a custom built one you don't have to assemble yourself. www.cyberpowerinc.com

I love to build them. I make a new one and hand down my old one to wife or kids. My latest is a water cooled overclocked gamer.
-
Build it from scratch myself. I start with a general idea of what I want to end up with and specifications and a ballpark idea of what I'm willing to spend. Then I'll take a couple days or weeks depending on the situation and research parts that will work best together. Then I order everything and build it.

Prices of computers these days. Just by one
-
I used to build them myself...now I just buy them.
-
Have someone else build it for me, my husband.
-
Laptops, I buy from HP or if it's a work laptop, I get IBM. Destops I build myself based on what I need. Servers, I am hooked on HP Proliants (historically Compaq).
-
My brother ordered mine for me over the net and it was delivered. I told him via phone what I'd use it for and so he put it together and my grandson hooked it up.
-
I prefer to build my own.

Buy it. Building a computer takes time, dedication and patience (something I do not have). Sometimes the video card may not be compatble with the mainboard (in servers, parts would need to be invested or sometimes more money would be invested in it than thought out. Custom build isn't for beginners. It's for people who know what they're doing and how to do it.
