How long will a Nintendo Gamecube last if taken care of?

I still have the original Nintendo and it works fine. So the Gamecube should last for many many years.

Older Gamecubes (2001) have a problem where the lens gets weaker over time and after playing it a lot. My Gamecube recently started having Disc Read Errors so I'm going to fix it myself.

I bought the Gamecube when it was first released and I have never had a problem.
