  • Technically no. But the fallacy is in the question itself because there's always going to be something in the forest that can hear it therefore providing the receiver necessary for communication to take place.

  • 6-23-2017 What you are asking is whether the universe can be trusted when there are no witnesses. One foundational axiom in science is "All laws operate the same at all times in all places. If it is not so, then the universe is governed by magic, not laws." But then some scientists come along with something they call "quantum dynamics" where the presence of a witness makes a big difference. So there is some flimflam going on. But the definition of sound does not require a witness.
