Is that 200+ books in a day? In a lifetime? And what kind of books? If you've read 200 books on trainspotting in the past year then yes, that is quite nerdy. If you've read 200 books on various subjects in your lifetime I doubt that's particularly unusual. Unless your eight years old or something - in which case, phone Mensa.
-
lol...which kind of books they are??...and no i don't think that u'll be called a nerd for reading 200+ books, but isn't that too much? how long did it take to finish them? Happy and safe new year!
-
As my English teacher told me many years ago... "quality, not quantity, counts".
-
Reading 200+ techy books might make you nerdy but reading 200+ books in general will make you well-rounded intellectually.
-
No, it doesn't. Depending on what you read, it either means you just like to read, or that you are nerdy. If they are novels and such, then you just like to read. If they are Sci-Fi fantasy, or romance novels, you could very likely be a nerd. I can't say anything about that, from time to time I read Stephen Hawking books for fun...
-
No, the 200+ books do Not make you nerdy. The high water pants, horn rimmed glasses and pocket protector make you a nerd.
-
No, that in and of itself does not make one nerdy. It makes you well read.
-
No, but it helps. lol! I read almost that many and don't feel nerdy at all, though. It sounds to me like you just like to read:-)
-
No, not at all.
-
If it does, wear the badge proudly. The average American reads ONE book per year. You are much more knowledgeable and cultured because of your reading habit. . . .
-
No, but bragging about it could.
-
No but it might make you nearsighted. BTW, what were the top 3 best your read?
-
no, but it does mean that you are a FAST reader..... it's almost a book a day, wow! it also means that you have a lot of free time or that you don't need to sleep a lot.....I'm jealous
-
Nothing wrong with nerdy. But you certainly are a fast reader!
-
no, but it does make me jealous... i wish i had time to read 200 books a year. i love to read. kudos, my friend. kudos. any good books you might recommend?
-
THAT WOULD DEPEND ON THE BOOKS YOU ARE READING, AND IF YOU DRESS UP IN COSTUMES OF THE CHARACTERS.
-
Not at all. I look at that as a sign of intelligence. I love to read and i read about that in a year. The more you read the more you know theres nothing nerdy about knowing practical things that others dont. Dont let anyone tell you that it's nerdy. Keep on Reading!!! as Aristotle said"books are the gatewy to our soul, they alone can decide who we are and what we do" or something along those lines
-
No way! It makes you my hero :) !
-
Reading is awesome. I don't read as many as you but I read on weird topics that intrigue me. =) Nerdy is just a word... When you label people you negate them.
-
No, that just makes you a bookworm. Although I can see the term nerdy applying if they were 200+ sci-fi novels, or comic books, or textbooks. But hey, there's nothing wrong with being a nerd. =P
-
Nerdy, No. Confused, yes. With 200 books read in a year, very little will "sink in", so to speak. You should read at most 10 books in year, but read them well. I mean reading at a reasonably serious level, not the frivolous, light-hearted stuff.
-
No it just makes you very into your books. I dont know how they could all be serous though, thats about 2 books every three days!
-
no but bragging about it would peace
-
No it makes you an avid reader.
-
it makes you smarter!!! (maybe a tad bit nerdy... but nerds are so HOTT to me) Indeed smarter yes!!!
-
No. It makes you someone who likes to read or is required to read for some reason. Plus, we don't have any idea what books they are, how long they are, what subject, fiction, non-fiction...
-
yes-in a good way! :) reading = knowledge = power :)
-
It depends on how much you get into the books you read. Really, I would expect a nerd to only read one book, a series of books, or one author over and over and over.
-
Not nerdy but you might want to start a daily exercise program so that you can read without getting guilty over any lack of physical activity.
-
No. I read at least 300 books a year. Nobody calls me a nerd. As long as you are reading a variety of book genres, but if you read 200+ books on the same subject, I still wouldn't call that nerdy. That's obsessed.
-
No not at all. It's great you have that kind of time and use it wisely.
-
no, i have a friend in school that is kind of the trouble maker and i guess you could call him a bad ass, and he is always reading books. i used to read a lot, but im a little bit to ADD to stay focused on it
-
Yeah, a little. But that's okay, isn't it? I couldn't do it unless they were 200 Dr Seuss books. :)
-
Absolutely not _ I read about 350 a year. Note, I do not watch TV - I read instead.
-
No. It depends on what you are reading. I could easily read 500 comic books a year or even a few hundred law reviews; but SQL Server 2008 might take me a little longer.
-
If it does, I'm nerdy on a level never seen before. I read constantly.
-
I think it makes you well-read, something to be proud of well done
-
Yes, but it's important to embrace your nerdiness. Revel in who you are!
-
I don't think so. It just shows that you love reading and you read much quicker than others!
-
Wow, impressive!!
-
You make nerdy sound like a bad thing. This little nerd was in my Phys Ed class: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Doerr Boy, was he nerdy!
-
Do you read for enjoyment or to learn? I think reading is better than wasting time watching TV or playing some mind-numbing video games.
-
A reader wouldn't ask that question because they wouldn't care.
-
i dont think so
