I would hug them back but at the same time look at their head(i'm afraid of lice now from way back) but I would probably still hug them.

Probably hug them right back and not let this ruin what might become a new friend. And if they're friendly I will usually just gel into their friendly nature. A kiss on the mouth may be a different story...

I don't mind, the world needs more hugs. A funny thing happened to me once though, a man I met at a friends church hugged me so I hugged back, but then he wouldn't let me go.

If there is a huge connection there, it's understandable. If not, it is, of course, bizarre. However, there is a percentage of the population that is very touchy-feely. Basically, they might make me wonder for a while, but, it wouldn't bother me.

KInd of depends if they are a total stranger, like off the street, in which case I would think it was rather rude ans scary. But if it's someone I'm meeting through a mutual friend, I think that I could understand wanting to hug somebody that is maybe close to a dear friend, or they may have heard what I was going through. I think it's a very friendly, nice thing to do. I'd probably hug them just as warmly.

aha, im spanish =]. i growed up hugging anyone. as growing up as a young kid. i reconize a hug as a sense of greeting. when greeting a man you shake his hand. when greeting a woman you give you a hug. thats a real gentlemen =]

Once late at night I was outside, and there was this guy with some other guys waiting in the back, and he came forth and asked me for change so that he could get drunk. He had a JJ Allen shirt on, and while giving him some change, I said I like your shirt, that guy's fucked up. (I was kind of bombed too.) Then he says, I took one look at you and though you were a bitch who probably wouldn't give me change, but you actually did, AND you know who JJ Allen is, you're way awesomer then I thought! Or somewhere along those lines, then he hugged me. I didn't show much of a reaction, but I liked it even if it was some complete stranger. Other then that it never happened. I suppose I'd look bothered but inside would appreciate it, kinda like then.

Shock, not only because I just met them but because I'm not huggable. When people see me they don't see someone touchy feely, I give off an angry vibe.
