Socialism leads to communism, they soften the education system, etc, they don't go straight from capitalism to communism, they soften the blow. All world leaders admired Stalin, Hitler yes, but Stalin more. It matters not either way, Totalitarianism works in both capitalism and communism, only the latter brings everyone's lifestyle down to the same level, you can't compete even a little bit. So yes they probably envy our life in some ways, in others, the loud, greed and selfishness, is less appealing.
