  • I did. A Ford. The car woke up one day thinking it was a toaster. I'm only half joking. Firmware crashed on the car and no one here in rural nowhere could fix it. Towed it to a dealer far away and had them reinstall the firmware. A couple weeks later it happened again. Had to have the computer in it replaced during the middle of the covid chip shortage. It cost me a fortune. A couple months later, it happened again. Firmware is not user-serviceable. Only dealers have the security codes to even attempt to fix it, and only certain dealers will, even if any dealer will sell you the car. D- experience. Leave the electric cars to Tesla. Ford and GM are way over their heads with this stuff.
