I have not heard of it before. I looked it up online and here's what I found; "Scissors as a Symbol in the LGBTQ Community The meaning behind scissors as a symbol in the LGBTQ community is rooted in the idea of cutting ties to the gender binary. Scissors can be seen as a way to cut through norms and expectations placed upon individuals based on their gender identity." That isn't all that scary, so it must mean something else in your country.
