  • Even if he goes to jail, there is no law saying he can still run for President.

Mr C is absolutely correct. There is nothing in the US Constitution that says even if Trump lands in prison he can still run for president
  • Is that surprising to anyone? If he drops out, it makes him look guilty and/or weak. He's got one of his biggest fans as a judge for the case, so, all he really has to do is ride this one out. And that won't even take very long. The judge will likely dismiss the charges with prejudice. People seem to forget that it's a different set of rules for people like you and me than it is for people like Trump.

There is a betting site that is offering 2500-to-1 payout odds for people willing to bet that Trump will do jail time. Keep in mind that the betting odds are always cushioned and that the people who run those sites are good enough at predicting this stuff to make a career of it. To put into perspective, the odds of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the Superbowl last year was 2700-to-1.

  • I don't think anyone is stupid enough to run a candidate who is currently in jail, including a Republican. However I could be wrong.

  • Legally, he still can run.

Mr C, thanks for your comment :)
  • No matter what goes on with these charges, it doesn't mean that I have to vote for him just because he's running. There are BETTER Republicans out there & so far he has NOT earned my vote!!!
