  • Should she have an abortion?
  • Where do you people come up with these asinine questions? If a baby has no brain, it has ((( zero ))) chance of living, since the brain is the power source for that.

It pains me to see so many people who benefitted from the "No Child Left Behind" Act trying to make contributions to the world. Reading is the most fundamental tool that is needed to communicate and it makes my eyes water to see so many who lack this ability.

Not true. One lived 33 days. And insulting the asker is just juvenile. If you don't want to answer the question DONT!
  • Horrible?

  • Unfortunate for the mother, but...if the baby has a 10% chance of living (I presume you mean: 10% chance of surviving birth and surviving for some uncertain amount of time after birth), then killing the baby is still (obviously) wrong. *** Now: in a case such as this, the question is not really that simple. What needs to be addressed - if it COULD be knowledgeably addressed - are "quality of life" issues...and that is a matter that is much more ambiguous and extremely subjective and (often) very poorly understood. *** So the bottom line question is: when is it OK to kill a baby? MY opinion is: never. Not even in the case you describe. Not even in the case where the baby has a 1% chance of living and will be connected to life support equipment it's entire life. In my opinion, it's not up to us - it should not be ALLOWED to be up to any human being - to choose to execute someone for being especially inconvenient, or especially needy, or anything else other than having been formally and officially declared guilty of a capital crime.

  • Anencephaly. If brought to term, expected lifespan is hours to a few days.

  • It depends. If the mother has a brain, this is not a problem. If the mother also doesn't have a brain, they will get on extremely well.

  • My little next door neighbor didn't live long but he brought joy and love to many around him in his short little life! The world wouldn't be the same without these precious little temporary gifts from heaven!

  • Sometimes even the best doctors can be wrong. Also, once there was a man who lived a pretty normal life, who had only 10% of his brain (the other 90% was fluid). If the baby truly has no brain, the chance of them having any quality of life might be small, but who is willing to equate stacked odds with certainty???
