thats so shocking and and its clear rules need to be changed so that only stable people can only own a gun !! in Australia over a certain age, you need a doctor to say you are capable of still driving a car and you need to do that doctor test Yearly, well the same for gun laws ,the person needs to go to a doctor yearly to prove he is not mental and no other member of his family is mental and if so they cant have a gun licence l!!

  "Defunding" doesn't mean "abolishing". It was an unfortunate word choice for what is actually intended to be police reform. No one wants to abolish police forces, but there's no doubt that reform is necessary.

That's sad, not quite sure what would solve this but I feel like easier/cheaper access to mental health care would.

I think the increase in shootings recently has partly been the result of pandemic-related stress, combined with the easing of restrictions in some places and with extremist attitudes and anger triggered by political rhetoric concerning the 2020 election and other subjects.
