  • The voters will decide however I don't see it becoming a reality anytime soon.

I don't believe it will ever happen, although I think it would be amusing to watch the independent state of California in their utopian glory.

Only a complete moron would want that. By itself, California's over 3-Trillion Dollar gross state product is the fifth largest economy in the World. It provides for an immense about of federal tax dollars that get redistributed by the Federal Gov't to smaller (mostly Red states) that have very little state revenue in comparison. Massive industry leaders like including Apple, Alphabet Inc., and Facebook are HQ'd there. California's Central Valley is one of the most productive agricultural regions on Earth, growing over half the country's fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Bigots like you can't see past the end of your nose.
  • We'll know it's serious when they fire on Fort Sumter.

Will they be using cannon (illegal in California) or straws (illegal in parts of California)?
    • mushroom
      Maybe some imported NK missiles.
  • No more than a Texit
  • Yes as long as a wall is built to the East of it and all taxpayer funds cut. It's possible.Who would have thought of cities harboring criminals or banning straws? No one 25 years ago would have dreamed of that. If they did they may have been committed.

Crazy. I say let them do their own thing, but like you said, do it on their own. No government subsidy. We'll see how long that lasts.

"No government subsidy. We'll see how long that lasts." It's the several little Red States all over the US that get the redistributed federal tax dollars from California's massive economy that will suffer. The California GDP is double Texas' or NY's, and triple Florida's. The Blue States supporting the Red States, as usual. California's one-state GDP accounts for 15% of the United States total GDP. Yeah, wish for that to go away... jesus h nipple, how stupid can you be.
  • No, the federal govt owns far too much property in Calif to just let it go. National forests, national parks, national monuments, military bases, etc.
  • No, I don't support that. There is far too much federal land in Calif to just give it away. National forests, national parks, national monuments, military bases , naval bases, ndn reservations and BLM (bureau of land management) that do not belong to the state.
  • We've seen what happens when someone tries to do that. It ain't happening in the foreseeable future.
