I believe so Cozzy W, but it's not just America where this is happening. The UK is also guilty of gullibility. It comes from being isolated from the rest of the world - the US is geographically separated and so is the Uk (especially now we're leaving the EU). Nobody knows what to believe these days what with "fake" news, downright lies, governmental propaganda and press manipulation.
