pugwashjw65 The jewish religious leaders of the Old Testament had to wear simple clean clothes...not just anything...The RCC and High Church of England have taken this to extremes. With ' crowns' similar to those worn by Egyptian Pharoahs....

Jesus criticized this practice for two reasons. First, the scribes and Pharisees enlarged their phylacteries in order to impress upon others how pious they were. Second, these groups wrongly considered their scripture-containing cases to be charms, or amulets, that would protect them.

first time I EVER heard of this........I was raised catholic,,,,,,,hated it, still do...and in general despise 'organized' religion. off subject, but kinda relevant, is the BIG myth about easter........Jesus would have to have been crucified on Wed. if he was to have been in the tomb for '3 days and 3 nights.......according to the prophecies. SO WHY IN THE HELL DO CHRISTIANS HAVE GOOD FRIDAY AND SUNDAY SUNRISE SERVICES WHEN the ACTUAL DAY IS NOT FRIDAY!?!? see what I mean? you claim to be 'christian' but don't even follow what it says in their own bible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 days - not 3 days AND nights. The days didn't need to be full 24 hour days. Died late Friday (Day one), Saturday (Day two), Rose early Sunday (Day three). Not full days - but 3 days never-the-less.
