  • Is this a trick question?
  • Far be it from a Brit to say anything nasty about your president, I'm just glad you have him and we dont. Then again we have Blair Hmmmm...
  • No I don't think he is. I think he has a hard time expressing himself but I don't think that equates with being slow.
  • He is below average. It is a shame that in such a great Country like the USA, with thousands of brilliant minds, we have this below average, intellectually and culturally challenged person occupying the higher Office of the land, the Presidency of the United States of America. This is like a bad dream...we will wake up, pick up the pieces and go ahead in a couple of years. This is a great Country we are proud of, but we are not perfect. Electing a bad candidate is part of the imperfection. We are better than that, and we will prove it, we will rise up again.
  • No not necessarily. Do not be fooled by the images he projects to mainstream media. Listen carefully to the speeches he gave as governor of Texas. He was also a fighter pilot at one time.
  • "Make no mistake about it" :)
  • There is nothing in W's academic career (full of "Gentleman's 'Cs'") or his business/political career prior to being appointed....er, I mean elected....President to indicate that he more than, at best, average intellectually. My bigger concern about him (from what I've read/heard from several sources) is that he is intellectually incurious. He apparently has little desire to learn new things or reexamine what he believes in the light of new evidence or alternative points of view. This lack of curiosity could explain some of his disastrous policy blunders (such as assuming that invading Iraq would be a 'cakewalk'). . . .
  • Probably not slow, but I heard once that he is dyslexic, which may cause thought disorganization and a lack of ability to appropriately and verbally express his thoughts. I also do not believe he is open minded in regard to debate over various issues.
  • I do think he has very low level literacy skills.
  • Yes, unless you can show positive proof that he is not.
  • No, I do not think that he is mentally slow. He has achieved more than any one of us will ever imagine. Now, on the other hand, he has been making some decisions that I don't necessarily agree with. I firmly agree that our troops definitely need to come home. It is time we stop killing our own troops and let them kill themselves.. Anyway, no I don't think he is mentally slow.
  • "You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror."—Interview with CBS News, Washington D.C., Sept. 6, 2006 Yes, I think so.
  • Not really. Remember, people always exaggerate the negative points. So, if you stop listening to others and figure things out for yourself, you'll see he's not even half as dumb as people say he is.
  • No I do not think he is intellectually challenged, verbally challenged maybe,. His skills in self expression are obviously not very good which is probably why he sounds and makes quite idiotic statements quite frequently. No man that is mentally slow could attain his position however much people disagree with his present policies and seemingly set and non progressive ideas. Maybe some of his verbal gaffs are down to pre- senile dementia. He would not be the first President in modern history to suffer from this debilitating condition.
  • Not at all. Something happens to him in press conferences, I don't know if that's strategic or not. It's wacky. But I think he would have to be a very intelligent person to have accomplished everything he has.
  • I don't think he's mentally slow, but I do think he suffers from a wicked case of malapropism.
  • I don't think that he is the brightest crayon in the box.
  • George DUH-bya Bush?
  • No, I don't think that he is mentally slow. Some people aren't great with speaking in public and unfortunately he isn't good at it.

  • His delivery is very much a Texas delivery. People from the south and with southern/Texan/Arkansas drawls are always portrayed as slower than others. I worked for 4 years to get rid of my southern accent for that very reason.

  • not fully up there, but not slow, for say.
  • he's not SLOW, the guy is a freakin genius ok one thing i CAN NOT believe is that he's got the whole fuckin world believing he's stupid... the guy went to YALE! YALE is not a JOKE! He was the president of one of America's oldest and most prestigious secret societies called Skull & Bones. He's not slow. He's a DOUCHEBAG but he's not slow.
  • His IQ is 118, but he is not necessarily slow. He doesn't have very good judgement and sometimes speaks before he thinks. But I do believe that he was only a puppet for Dick Cheney. I actually believe it is Cheney that has been pulling the strings.
  • I'm surprised it took this long for people to start questioning his mental state. Yes I do
  • If you disagree with a liberal you are automactially considered stupid I think W was stupid like a fox and played the left see they are more unpopular than he is today.
  • Mentally slow? That implies that he has a mind and that, my friend, is the only thing that guy ain't got!
  • No not at all just maybe not up to the present position.
  • I don't know if he is actually slow, but he certainly doesn't seem to display much common sense or good judgment.
  • No, I think he pulled off plausible deniability like a genius! And he fooled the majority of the world doing it, too!
