As I was growing up, we always put kerosene oil on the chigger bites. Whether it worked or not, it did seem to provide relief.

Me and my father got chiggers while picking blackberries in the woods and our physician told us to put clear fingernail polish on the bites. This worked pretty quick and gave a lot of relief.

Use preperation H. It relieves the swelling and itching. For most bites. It works wonders on my kids.

This really works fast. You seen that new product out for freezing warts off? Years ago I got covered with chiggers. I used something called Freeze It. It's for cooling components in electronic stuff. I froze the whelps. Instant relief! Although it may leave a brown spot for a while! It works great!

My uncle told me years ago to smear softened bar soap over the area and it suffocates them.
