BRG Gads.......what kind of place did you work at? or where do you get your information? I was a host (worst job of my life!!) and I greeted guests, seated them, and assigned the servers their stations......WHICH I HATED DOING AS THEY complained about them all the time...anyway, never heard of a place that'd have a host/hostess do all that!!! maybe a smaller place?

As a host or hostess you'll be responsible for many things. You'll need to cheerfully greet guests, take them to their table and provide them with silverware and a menu.
