They are ignorant,and afraid of what they do not know,and do not have enough desire to research what it is they are racist about.

Because it makes even less sense to be racist towards themselves.

Ignorance, fear, the way they were raised, and many poor stupid ones are actually talked into it using certain so called "religious" concepts or twisted beliefs.
