  • Yellow carries the video signal, red & white carry stereo audio signal.
  • They're called RCA cords or composite cables. Yellow is the video signal, red is the right and white is the left, audio channel. The video (yellow) carries the video signal from your device to your screen. The audio cords each carry a separate left or right audio signal so that you have stereo sound instead of mono.
  • Aren't they AV cords? Its already been said but yellow is video and red and white are right and left audio.
