Arnold Swartzeneggar once said in his book encyclopedia to bodybuilding that at one time there were just free weights to work out with, marketing these items proved to not make much money because they dont wear out over a long period of time, my dad still has freewieghts from the 60s, so they started marketing food supplements and machines that require maintenance after its bought, so they make money; if your going to buy a machine, choose one with fewer moving parts and simplified.
