Because experience tells me that if I am going to get trouble (not necessarily violence, just trouble and hastle) from anyone, it is most likely to be hooded youths hanging about at night. My stubborness means that in reality I actually wouldn't cross the road at all though. I wouldn't want them to think I was intimidated by them.
-
because my house is across the street.
-
To get to the other side!
-
Because it's more sensible than shoulderbarging the largest one.
-
I wouldn't, I would {and have) walk(ed) right through/past them fully ready for any eventuality. :o)
-
nope but i'd 'pant' my ipod and phone!
-
I don't.
-
Survival instinct - hoods hide their eyes (and their intentions), three is the minimum yet enough number for a gang (which means group action), at this time there is a pretty good chance they feel bored that nothing happens around and are looking to make their night fun or are back from a disco which means probably drunk and unpredictable.
-
To avoid the urge to talk about how great Obama is to blacks!
-
If you cross the road they'll cross the road. It's better to walk straight ahead and hope they're looking for an easier target.
-
i've read too much edgar allen poe to trust the situation. besides, my survival instinct is kicking in - dark, 2 AM, 3 youth, hoods. i want to be at home by the fireplace but i can't escape the truth. well, i know that people are less likely to victimize you if you're acting all kooky. so, i'd start talking to elvis and doing his dance moves. they'd either stop, feel sorry for me, and give me a dollar, or they'd walk on. SUCCESS! i go buy a cup of coffee and go home.
-
I wouldn't be walking alone at that time other than in my yard or in some kind of emergency. I might cross the road regardless of WHO was in my path.
-
To meet the chicken and go for a beer.
-
I don't. I pass between them, prepared. If You're not afraid and don't act like a total pushover, they won't do anything.
-
Situational awareness. It's not discrimination to be wary of three youths who are hiding their features. I'd rather be alive and "intolerant" than stabbed and "non-judgmental."
-
I don't. I secure my Glock 26, and prepare myself for anything these "youths wearing hoods" might have in mind.
-
To go say hi to John, Mac and Philip XDD
-
to try and avoid a bad situation of any kind.
-
So they won't be tempted to do something stupid that could get them hurt or killed.
-
So I don't KTA!!
-
In this day and age, I don't walk the streets alone at 2 AM. By the way, problems that you may encounter with people under these circumstances are not limited to youths wearing hoods.
-
No i would remain on the same path quite happily. I do not consider youths to be intimidating. I've had some people cross over the road when i walked past and i find it so rude.
-
because they are probably trying to jump someone or cause some kind of trouble...why else would three hooded youths be out at 2 am?
-
I don't cross the road.
-
To open the gate to let the pitbull out to pee.
-
I don't cross the road. I just take out my pistol in case they want to start trouble.
-
I wouldn't be out running the streets at 2am (thanks for clarifying that 2AM is in the morning!) And if I was I wouldn't cross the street for no reason!
-
i dont, its cold out, i wear that too when its cold out
-
To try to avoid any possible trouble.
-
