its not legal no. People even work beyond the age of retirement as they do not have to be forced to retire. Try joining a working union so your job is safe. If you are at some point unfairly dismissed or the signs are there, seek legal action against the company

A lot of employers weren't giving raises last year or this year. 10% this year sound VERY good to me...like they want to keep you! As to age discrimination; yes, it exists but I'm not sure you are facing it with this company. If you leave this company without another job to go to, you may encounter it...It's not legal to discriminate but HR has so many ways to bypass it with words like "overqualified" or "not a good fit", etc. I know, I'm facing it now.
