MyangI've heard that they never let others fly alone or left lost. left alone or whatever.. All i know is they're great in teamwork and they're always united. Maybe that bird has an amnesia? xD kidding! Maybe its a solitary bird. :)

Thats my pet bruce....here in canada we all have our own honker ;o) He'll find a flock to fly with, he may have stayed behind with one who was hurt and eventually died.

Aren't they monogamous (did I spell that right?)? I think they mate for life. That goose's wife, Melinda, got shot by a big, burly hunter named Bill. Now that goose has to fly all alone because he's too stupid to go find a new wife. Thats what he gets for being so commited to one goose.

he's the one in the gaggle that wouldn't shut up all last night. The rest of the gaggle got up and flew away without him.

I saw one flying solo about a week ago ~ also wondered why. It was going the wrong way! Well that's what I thought, having seen an arrow formation flying north a few days earlier. YES we have them wayyyy down here in New Zealand :) .. I think they're gorgeous!
