i say 'Whew!' but it goes the same either way :D

I prounounce whew with obviously a "w" and phew with a "f"... but as far as meaning I think they are interchangeable. But I use phew more I guess.

I think of phew as more of a "lucky we escaped that one" while I'd use whew more in a "that was an exhausting bike ride" way.

Huge difference. As in "Whew, I slowed down just in time so I wasn't speeding in front of that cop", and "Phew, something crawled up your ass and died."
