Because the story that religion tells you about Jesus isn't true. You've been lied to. Some people on our planet believe in other myths that their religion holds dear. Some people prefer to understand the universe as science explains it. It's a good thing that more people don't like Jesus :)

I imagine being perfect is pretty hard. It helps to start out as the son of God. I didn't have that advantage.

Is this a liberal related question and the real meaning is, why don't more people give hand outs to lazy people who don't do anything to help themselves? Jeasus helped people to better themselves, he didn't just give them stuff. People who work hard to help themselves will get help. Lazy people don't deserve help. Most of the people that I know give 40% or more of their earnings and time to help others.

(DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a Christian, nor do I claim to be a Bible scholar. The following is JUST person opinion.) Well, THAT would be the whole point of Christianity, wouldn't it...to be like Christ? The thing is, THAT concept was doomed before it even started. Jesus himself asked, "Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you?" (Luke 6:46) He went on to say, "Truly, truly, I say to you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to my Father." (John 14:12) Therein lies the problem: MOST PEOPLE DON'T "TRULY" BELIEVE. To believe in Jesus with such conviction that you can do exactly what he did proved/proves to be extremely difficult. We're way to self-centered to contemplate the discipline and devotion to service that's required to master the concepts Jesus spoke of and to duplicate the works that he did. Far easier to make Jesus "The One" and build an organization around HIM. This releases US from the responsibility of truly devoting a life to Christ.

because Jesus or others is not whom they wish to please,JUST THEMSELVES....it SELFISHNESS...:)justme "Do Unto Others, as u would have them do unto u!" this means every single person;child,husband,grandmother,father etc. in ur life and that u see or meet EVERYDAY...thats kinda of hard for most.& u don't have to love any to do this, just have the respect for others that u have for URSELF!!...especially the self centered!!!...:)justme

no peoples/humans on the earth have ever been "like" Jesus, except maybe Adam and Eve before they "disobeyed". this is not intended to mean PHYSICAL IMAGE, but SPIRITUAL and INTELLECTUAL IMAGE of God/Jesus ...Jesus was PERFECT, Divine...no human on earth is nor ever will be perfect.... we are to strive to be "in HIS image" but since TIME BEGAN....no one can fill HIS SANDALS...remember what John the Baptist said...:)
