  • It doesn't affect me at all, so I don't really care.
  • Completely indifferent.
  • I don't care. I didn't care when I had a president getting his peepee wet in someone other than his wife.
  • I didn't know that. Well it doesn't matter to me.
  • He's supposed to be an example. What if he were smoking crack and it didnt effect his work? Would people be like, "it doesnt bother me"? Give up them smokes Bam you crazy prez.
  • I don't care to each his own! Besides i know of a certain former president who had a cocaine habit.
  • indifferent. it's none of my business if the man smokes. as long as he does a good job, i could care less.
  • it is not good.
  • Since he's not blowing smoke in my face, it's none of my business.
  • No different than I feel about anyone else who smokes. I'm just glad I never picked up that habit. It must be the hardest one to quit.
  • Not proud. I was strong enough to quit, I wish my president were as strong.
  • I think he should have quit by now, but I know it's really difficult to do. I'm not really sure I'd like him to try quitting WHILE in office, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. I'm not sure I want a President who's going through nicotine withdrawals.
  • Well, he'll get lung cancer and Biden can take over... I guess
  • It doesn't set a good example for his kids, never mind the presidency.
  • No biggie.
  • i feel better about him being open about his flaw than i do about a pres getting bj's under the oval office desk.. i feel better about him being honest about his smoking and he knows he's decaying his own body, then putting lives on the line on a daily to fortify his or his fathers' peronal sanctifications.. juss sayinn
  • Not very good but not my problem . It is his wife that is kissing an ashtray.
  • None of my business.
  • It's his choice. His lungs will be kinda icky though.
  • I don't care. :)
  • i dont care that he smokes whys that so evil bush was a moron and he didnt....so....?
  • It doesnt bother me.
  • i don't care! as long as he gets the job done he can smoke all the cigarettes he wants!
  • better than i felt about having a President who drank a larger number of beers than he is old
  • The job of being President is probably the most stressful job in the world. Nicotine relaxes a smoker. If he needs to do anything to lessen his stress level, that is fine with me. As long as it doesn't interfere with his ability to do his job, then I don't care what he does on his own time. I am sure he is not the only President to have a bad habit. I think President Clinton smoked cigars. President Obama is an adult and, if he wants to smoke, he can smoke. It is nobody's business but his. As long as what he smokes is legal, then I don't see why it is a problem. I heard he is trying to quit anyway.
  • I really don't care at all. He wasn't the first presidential smoker and he won't be the last most likely.
  • I'm fuming about it!
  • I don't care if the man smokes. What does bother me is this seems to be the majority of the answers, nobody seems to mind it, and that is cool but yet people seem to mind that complete strangers smoke and they talk trash about other smokers but not the President. When it is him that smokes it is okay, but me being a smoker..oh that is a total different story. That is what bothers me. Smokers get looked down on as being nasty and selfish and treated like they don't have any rights to smoke in public anywhere anymore, even outside. But yet it is okay for smoking to be allowed on the White House premises but not outside at an airport. I mean come on, if normal people like myself can't smoke a cig. to calm my nerves on a 2hour layover at an airport but Mr. President can smoke up the White House there is something wrong with that picture.
  • I think it's a horrible example. It's also a double standard. If he weren't the media's darling, they'd be all over him for smoking. American cities are banning smoking in public, but our commander in chief is puffing away...all the while bemoaning lack of health care...which he's going to need for all the health problems he's in for if he doesn't give up smoking.
  • He is harming himself and I do not like him anyway.
  • I don't think it says much for his intelligence or self control...and it definitely is not sending a very good message to young children. He is supposed to be setting a GOOD EXAMPLE. I am all about, everyone that smokes, re-thinking their choice. Especially someone that's in the position he is in.
  • everybody who bitches and whines about us nasty smokers should thank us for the BILLIONS and yes BILLIONS of tax dollars that smokers pay in every year. remember every politician that signs an anti smoking bill has a cigar in his mouth and a bottle of scotch on his desk. 2nd hand smoke may have harmful effects but i dont know anyone who has been killed by a smoking driver.............
  • I guess it is not nearly as bad as creating pointless wars. His smoking habit is between him and his lungs; it is not a matter of national concern. If he wanted to declare war on a country because it produces lots of tobacco, then it would be a political issue.
  • As long as he doesn't inhale. ;P
  • He USED to smoke cigarettes. All the same, I don't like it. No one wants a president with health problems.
  • doesn't bother me bit
  • Not a good role model.
  • Too cool for school, smoking actually gives people more humility I think.
  • His business! Now, ask me how I feel about those who stick their noses into others' business...and their adult choices that don't harm me! Just be a good president, Mr. President...that's all I want!
  • I think it's setting a bad example to our young ones. Smoking is bad for our health in so many ways.
  • He's not the first. It is nobody's business.
  • Happy! Everybody was all on-and-on about how he is black yet they overlooked that he is part of a minority that is HEAVILY persecuted against and who has no legal protections; a smoker. It's okay for a financially-inept, religiously intolerant guy to lead us to war and strip away our Constitutional rights but a grown man can't light up a stick of legal, Class A tobacco? What is WRONG with this country? Are our heads not screwed on straight?
  • I really don't care whether our new GREAT president smokes or not.
  • If he smokes cigarettes, it doesn't bother me. I hope he doesn't practice the 'Bill Clinton cigar trick'.
  • I didn't vote for him because I don't agree with his politics, but whether he smokes or not has no affect on his job and whether or not he is going to be good at it. It is a nonissue.
  • It makes no difference to me
  • It hasn't bothered me in the past. FDR smoked like a chimney, of course, and Obama smoked for years but quit quite a while ago -- under his wife's influence. I'm a former smoker and know myself how hard it is to quit. Obviously it's best not to smoke, and Obama was never seen smoking while president, because he knew that he shouldn't encourage young people to do it. When FDR was president, massive numbers of other people also smoked, and there was no television footage to worry about. I doubt that, in future, we'll have another president who smokes. The number of smokers in this country is really quite low now, and politicians are aware that smoking makes for very bad optics.
  • A little like I feel about a President who bangs porn stars, except somewhat less so.
  • Don't care
  • I don't care. Smoking is a personal choice. It's still legal and heavily taxed, so if he wants to smoke, he can go for it.
  • He sets a bad example for children.
  • It's no big deal. Presidents are not the holiest people. You should know better. 😈
  • Don't care
  • how many a day did Obama smoke each day in the white house? But smoking is bad do as I say not as I do as pathetic.
