For some reason i prefer White Roses Even though it isn't really different-Red roses are so normal and seem to have less thought put into them

When I first got hooked up with my wife I was virtually broke. One valentines day I gave her a white rose and told her that I planned to give her one every year untill she had a dozen, because I couldn't afford to give her all of it at once. I've given her, besides the white one, 4 red roses, 1 for each year. I plan on starting our 2nd dozen with another white one to comemorate the occassion.

Red seems cliche to me. Any color rose would suit though as long as its not black.
-
red for married, white for dating or engaged
-
I prefer white, but that's just me. Red is more popular, though. But, why go with roses? Why not something exotic or more uncommon? Unless, of course, roses are her absolute favorite...
-
I guess roses are the traditional gift, but my hubby got me some tulips one year & they were absolutely my favorite.
-
red roses are a bit tachy! white are ok but you must buy them in a an arrangement with lots of green and bows attached to a large box of thorntons chocs
-
i would say if you want tradition go with red.
-

-

-
I like a combination of both. Very pretty.
-
i think white is more romantic because everybody gives out red roses now a day and to recieve a dozen of white roses doesnt only say i love you it also states how pure, simple and clean that persons love is for you...so it has more than one message.
-
How about a dozen red with one white in the center to signify she is the center of your world, or that she holds your heart? I would like that.

When I got my girlfriend our first rose, I did extensive research through her friends about her preferences. I would say that even though flowers are symbolic of many things such as dating and marriage, go with what you believe will make her feel the most special and beautiful. Talk to her friends and get them to find out if she prefers one color over the other. But the most important detail is where you put it. Through my experiences, I have found that the most romantic action is leaving the rose or roses where she is bound to find them. Also, if you include a romantic and sincere note, the color will hardly matter. A romantic note with her favorite color? Priceless.

No roses, just a venus fly trap. :P
-
