If you are asking me what teacher gave me the lowest grade at any time in any grade then it was Art. My teacher gave me a C- but I didn't deserve it. He did it because I was an A student in every other class and he didn't want to really screw up my average. His name was Mr. De Kramer and he was extremely kind to me and although that was 61 years ago I shall never forget his kindness! :) I was in 7th grade at the time. :)

Strange to say, it was history. I struggled with it and HATED it. Lots of memorizing of events and dates, then drew a few maps now and again. YUCK. Ironic given that today, I call myself a history buff, LOVE history, love DOING genealogy, family and local history, and such. "What's the story behind that" .. person, place, thing is an ongoing mantra. Also came to see that historians are professionals like any other, but may have totally different viewpoints and conclusions on "what happened" or "why" in history. Each history written is an evaluation of evidence and a published conclusion. If more evidence comes in, then it has to be re-evaluated. Just like the sciences! Anyway .. it had no relevance to or for me in school so struggled with it. Now it's been reclaimed!! :) Math and science and english were fine. Oh wait .. another struggle area was GYM CLASS. Field or volleyball or basketball or tennis was fine. But during the months we had to do gymnastics? I would have preferred being 5000 miles away. I was HORRIBLE on rings or parallel bars and such. Yikes.

K-12: Latin. (Translating Caesar was literally impossible. First time I ever ran into anything that I COULDN'T figure out no matter how hard I tried.) University: some of the fine arts people made life really difficult. I was a physics major and I could do physics as long as I applied myself. I could do math and chemistry as long as I applied myself. But the way some of those fine arts people wanted weird interpretations or colossal and original papers...just too much busywork. Also had that problem with one chemistry lab. I could do the lab fine, but it took me tens of hours to write up - and then type up, on a typewriter - the dratted lab report. These were mostly hard because of the excessive amount of time required for homework, not because of the subject matter. I got straight A's in Quantum Mechanics, Differential Equations, etc. I.e. the subjects that make most students pull out their hair. I also had excellent grammar skills. Did fine in philosophy, logic, sociology, languages. But the combination of being a poor typist and a SLOW writer killed me in subjects that assigned lengthy written homework assignments. Can I write a one-page document? sure. Grammar: perfect. Stylistically: perfect. Can I do it in an hour? Unless I know the topic intimately, I'm going to be struggling.

I liked school and did well at it. However, in college, I took a very tough Astronomy and Astrophysics class that was probably the hardest I ever had. Second hardest was an Italian poetry seminar -- taught in Italian and requiring papers written in Italian.

I suppose you mean "high school" and the answer is either English Lit or Philosophy. Why: terrible teachers. I had the same subjects at Uni and did fine (As). *** The subject that was actually the most difficult to master was 2nd-year Latin. I was the top student in the class, but that was the first time that I ran into homework - regularly - that I literally could not finish correctly, no matter how much time and effort I put into it. I was the top student because I *did* put more time and effort into it than my peers, and I ended up with fewer mistakes than they did.

For me it was Organic Chem and Physics. I see my younger cousins also struggling a bit with these subjects today. But then again most people I know found Org Chem and Physics challenging. I see students increasingly relying on supplementary learning materials today, which is good I guess. My cousins use Bartleby Learn (https://www.bartleby.com/questions-and-answers) in particular.

I got my lowest grades in P.E. and typing. But my last year I got an award in P.E.

Algebra. I failed it and had to take it again. I learned it so well I became a tutor. π

Advanced mathematics like square roots for instance was the hardest subject for me. Thankfully I donβt study advanced mathematics anymore otherwise I would be stressed out by it. Because I live in Ireland, I was never able to study the Irish language. I donβt have linguistic skills. The only language I know is English.
