"I guess that's why they call it the blues"
-
Ba-Ba-Ba-Benny and the Jets
-
"I'm Still Standing." It applies to any of us who have made it through the psychodelic rock years in which Elton wore through all those glasses.
-
Mad man across the water ( thats a tough one...too manny of his songs are good i guess it depends on the mood ! )
-
Daniel.
-
Benny and the jets or song for Guy
-
I love "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?", mostly because of The Lion King... also "Your Song", and another vote for "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues".
-
Tiny Dancer
-
Daniel. I just heard a live version done by “My Morning Jacket” and I like that even more.
-
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy :) I love so much of his music but that's always been a favorite. Oh yeah and Tiny Dancer, I've always loved it but that scene in Almost Famous where they all sang it on the bus made it even better for me.
-
Candle in the Wind
-
I love "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues." I thought the version where he did a duet with Mary J Blige was great.
-
Kind of obscure but I really like "Come Down in Time" off of Tumbleweed Connection...for some reason I cry when I hear it!
-
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
-
ROCKET MAN as well as the entire TUMBLEWEED CONNECTION album that he recorded with Bernie Taupin. They wrote some great songs together. These were the early "golden years."
-
I like the 1 he did with eminem.even thou it wasnt his song ,but that was the only 1 i liked...I think he has taken to many rockets from to many men.
-
Pinky
-
Crocodile Rock. When I was in 3rd grade we played that 45 all through recess on the classroom phonograph.
-
Oh gosh..good question. I ♥ Elton John. It would either be Tiny Dancer, Daniel, Your Song, or Candle in the Wind. I can't decide. It depends on my mood I guess.
-
I have most of his CD's but my all time favorite is "Guess that's why they call it the Blues."
-
Your song, Take me to the parlour or The One.
-
Blue eyes...My ex BF used to sing it to me.

Not a great fan of his music, but I guess Rocket Man would be my choice if I HAD to listen to one of his songs.
-
That's a trick question.
-
Either "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" or "Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road". The former is a good song for drinking a bottle of wine to...alone.

Love Song. It's an acoustic guitar piece off the "Tumbleweed Connection" album. Halfway through, the sound of waves crashing on the beach and people laughing emerges in the background. A beautiful song. The words I have to say May well be simple but they're true Until you give your love There's nothing more that we can do Love is the opening door Love is what we came here for No one could offer you more Do you know what I mean Have your eyes really seen You say it's very hard To leave behind the life we knew But there's no other way And now it's really up to you Love is the key we must turn Truth is the flame we must burn Freedom the lesson we must learn Do you know what I mean Have your eyes really seen

I have to admit I'm not a big Elton John fan. Taupin's lyrics just don't make sense half the time; I mean "Rocket Man," come on: "Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids / In fact, it's cold as hell / And there's no one there to raise them if you did." Yea-uh. I did like Ewan McGregor's version of "Your Song" in "Moulin Rouge" much more than the original; it really brought out the romance. But my all time favorite EJ song, which I think is totally awesome is "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding." The instrumental "Funeral for a Friend" really shows EJ's talent and passion; it's gorgeous and intense and just beautiful, and "Love Lies Bleeding" is also passionate, the chorus is shattering, and while some of the lyrics are less than sublime, most of the song is close to perfect.

Not really ONE but several favorites: "Empty Garden," "The Greatest Discovery" AND "We All Fall in Love Sometimes." I love Elton's sensitive songs best - no one can compete! "Take Me to the Pilot" and "Burn Down the Mission" are my favorite faster songs. Finally, I will always love "Princess" which I used to sing to my baby girl 26 years ago while I "danced" around the house with her in my arms - thanks for so many great memories, Elton!
