Most people would say yes, because of the health issues involved. However, they already tried that with alcohol. Look how well that turned out. Banning cigarette smoking would put an entire industry out of work. We're talking thousands of people in just about every community nation wide. Such a legal action would have adverse effects on an already shaky economy. Cigarettes would become worse than drugs ever were. More than half the country would be committing crimes just to get a hold of one lousy cigarette. Organized crime syndicates would once again rise up everywhere to supply the demand for illegal cigarettes. We are better off convincing people to stop smoking or convincing them to never start in the first place.

Yeah that's a good idea, bring our country closer to the tyranny which our fore fathers fought to escape from. No I don't believe that should happen, if anything Purple Sticky Punch should be legalized.

Yes, we need to find a good reason to put more people in prison. they can do it in prison with the rest of the criminals. just because it is illegal doesnt mean they cant do it in prison. they do it all in prison.

You are totally right! As with any outlawed item, smuggling gets rampant and crime rises. The entire wars on drugs should be stopped. It regulates itself.

No..The citizens of the U.S need to stop running to the govt to outlaw everything that SOME do not like..You are handing over more and more power over your life to the govt. with each whining little complaint..Sure, you can outlaw cigarettes and end up with an even higher crime rate than already exists and add more laws and restriction to an over worked law enforcement system, or you can just not smoke if you don't like it. :)

Everyone has the right to kill themselves slowly in their own way. Whether it be drugs or ciggs or drinking too much. Although, I'd certainly think we'd all be alot better without it...my only thing is, I wouldnt vote against it because I feel it'd get in the way of peoples freedom.

6-7-2017 I think it is none of the government's business if I choose to smoke, drink sugar water, eat fatty foods, send my kids to this or that school, or any other detail that does not directly relate to governing the country.

Time and time again, prohibition has been proven not to work. Outlawing cigarettes would only create a black market for the product, promote crime, and make smoking even more dangerous than it already is. More effective methods to discourage people from smoking could involve educating people on the risks, enacting taxes, or a combination of the two.
