It connotes the time you've been here and the time you spend here..that's all it means, nothing else. I personally would like to eliminate levels, points, titles, awards. It is comparable to a car you've had for years..the odometer is gonna show a lot more miles on it just because you've had it so long. :) It doesn't mean it's "better" than a brand new car with low mileage.
