  • The Tiler can place a lien on the house, even though the owner has already paid for the work. This is a legal trick that is totally unfair to the homeowner. The only recourse is to then sue the original contractor to recover any losses. By that time, the original contractor is usually long gone, or covered by a bankruptcy procedure.
