No one can possibly know the answer to this question, since no one measured the weight of the cross before or after Jesus carried it. However, many woods in that part of the world are heavy, and it stands to reason that a solid wooden cross would be very very heavy. If you've ever tried to carry a single solid beam of wood, that would give you somewhat of an idea how heavy wood can be.

It is generally agreed that Jesus did not carry a cross, but carried the crossbeam. Wood was expensive and they often reused the post when crucifying people. Nevertheless, a beam long enough to handle outstretched arms and hold the body weight would likely weigh over 40 lbs. A difficult carry for a healthy man for several miles, let alone one who had been whipped and flogged for several hours.
