How do you determine how many linear feet of cedar are needed to build a deck based on square foot measurment of the deck.

Walk the outside perimeter with a measuring wheel. The sum of it's linear feet are the total footage of the circumference from point A back to point A. Otherwise use square footage if you want to know how much lumber you need for the job or you'll come up a mile short.
