  • They lick there balls because they CAN !

  • I read this a few years ago and it still holds true: If a Dog Were Your Teacher If a dog were your teacher you would learn stuff like... When loved ones come home, always run to greet them. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy. When it's in your best interest -- practice obedience. Let others know when they've invaded your territory. Take naps and stretch before rising. Run, romp, and play daily. Thrive on attention and let people touch you. Avoid biting, when a simple growl will do. On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree. When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body. No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout... run right back and make friends. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough. Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.. http://members.fortunecity.com/camarila/petessays2.html Personally, I like the last one.
  • Even though it may sometimes break your heart, you still have to say 'NO'.
  • Eat when you're hungry, and sleep when you're tired. Me and my cat get along just fine, we're very similar that way.

  • My dog Roxy was a good listener, I should thank her for the hours I have spent listening to the problems of my friends. After she was gone (11 years now) I was missing more than just my loving pal, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then one day when I needed to talk to someone I figured it out, I was missing my best listener. So I try to follow her example and I listen intently to my friends (or sometimes strangers) when the need to talk. Thank you "Rocket Dog" for this lesson. P.S. I am in tears just thinking about her, I miss my pal.

  • To always check under and around the car/truck before backing out of the drive-way. One pet stopped me from backing over a kid, who was hid under my truck one day. Now days each time I leave a place where there are little ones. I always make sure to check twice under & around the area.
