Is it important to leave your exterior lights on at night?
In the neighborhood I live in, most homes are illumintated. Other neighborhoods I have driven by are pitch-black.

I never thought so until one morning when I got up and found my gate standing open, and the door on my pick-up ajar with footprint coming in from the road. I been keeping the outside lights on at night ever since. 7/11/23

It can deter a burglar.

Wouldn't burning lights all night tell a burglar you have money to burn? I have a rather unorthodox anti theft program. I don't own anything anyone would want. I would have to pay the burglar for decluttering my place and hauling off the garbage.
