How do I become a better dance partner, specifically with lifts?

My partner and I are doing a 20's themed dance, that requires a "Charleston Flip". Any advice? I'm not new to dance in general, but I am pretty new to partner dancing. I am a smaller girl and he is a taller/stronger guy so it shouldn't be a problem, but I just want to make it the easiest I can for him.

Since practice makes perfect, you're already making it easy for him. You are a smaller girl, so I'm sure he would be able to toss you around in the air like a rag doll.
