Where I live they just made it legal to break a car window to save a dog or child from a hot car death. Many people are NOT HAPPY about it. What do you think?
The dog/ child must appear to be in distress. You are then required to make a reasonable attempt to find the owner. Then you must call Emergency Services before you can break the window.
It is being called a feel good law for bleeding hearts. What do you think?

Well, the idea is good, very good. Like everything, though, some idiots will abuse it as an excuse for vandalism.

i think thats a good idea, if they didnt want their windows broken, they shouldnt have left their child or pet in there

Ok if it means saving a life.

No one should leave a child in a car by itself - so this shouldn't even be part of the debate. As for a pet, there should be food and water for it on the floor where it can easily be seen by concerned people. The windows should also be rolled down an inch or two to give the pet air circulation and a note displayed in the window informing people that the pet is being well cared for.
