Does my foot need to be re-broken? Any thoughts/answers would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
A couple years ago I hurt my foot badly. It immediately swelled and I had to stay off of it, elevate it, ice it and take Advil (I didn't take Advil every day) for about two months. After it started to hurt less I realized that I had a fairly large bump on my foot. I went to the doctor and he told me it was strained ligaments but if the bump didn't go away in a few weeks I was supposed to go back to him. It has been 3-4 years and the bump is still there. My foot hurts when I walk/run a far distance and it really hurts when I touch my foot. When I manage to get through the pain of touching it i can feel what seems like a bone but it feels different on my other foot, so I am afraid I fractured or broke my foot and it grew over wrong. I think my doctor was wrong, but he is retiring soon so I am going to wait until I get a new doctor to check it out, for two reasons. One is a fresh pair of eyes might spot something my other doctor didn't see. And two if I do have to get my foot rebroken I'd rather deal with the same doctor the whole time than switch in the middle of fixing my foot. I just wanted opinions because i am confused. I keep saying i definitely need it rebroken but then i stress about it for a bit and then i decide its fine.
