  • ask someone for a new one or get it myself
  • If I was at a nice resturant, the floors looked clean, and if the waitress looked busy, I would.
  • No Doubt about it I would ask for one or get it myself. Didn't take me long to imagine somebody stepping in dog s**t and then walking in that same spot before I dropped it.
  • My dining partner would notice and he would insist I ask for a fresh one.
  • Automatically request a new one - I guess some people are of the "no fuss" material but I would do the same should the eating utensil drop on my own floor...It's something about the thougt of what enters my mouth ya know?
  • I wouldnt pick it up. its on the floor, it is someone elses responsibility. I would ask for another fork. the waiter can pick up the fork. picking up a dropped fork is one of the worst things for your back.
  • Use it, of course, and wouldn't even bother the wiping part. Oh, and if someone does notice the dropping of fork, the answer remains the same.
  • i would ask for a new one or nick 1 from another table, i would pick the fork up and eiither give it to the server or replace it with the 1 i stole lol
  • "Could I please have a new fork?"
  • Absolutely ask for a clean one. There is no "five second rule" - do you think bacteria have a stopwatch?!?!
  • ask for a clean one. they can afford to give you another at those prices.
  • Sneak over to another table and snag one of the silverware sets from there.
  • NNNOOOOOOOOOOOO way would I wipe it off. I would not eat any more before I would use that fork. There are diseases waiting for a home.
  • At the price of resturants today, if I dropped the steak instead of the fork, it wouldnt matter if anyone noticed because at 20 bucks I'm eating that baby.
  • For me, it would depend on if the fork was fresh when it fell or if I'd already used it. Fresh, then no big deal to reuse. If already wet with food and saliva, definitely want a new one as 'stuff' would stick to it.
  • I ask for a clean one. I would get a clean one even at home.
  • I would ask the waiter/waitress for another fork. "excuse me, may I have a fork, i dropped mine on the floor."
  • I would definitely ask for a new fork. How gross.
  • I don't care where I am dining...if it falls on the floor, I'm asking for another tool! In a posh restaurant, the waitperson should ideally be keeping an eye on their tables...and they should quickly react by picking it up and providing you with another fork, knife, spoon...or napkin. If they missed it...I would pick it up myself and make the request with my apologies. This is but one way they earn that big fat tip they are hoping for!
  • I would ask for a clean one, Floors are for walking on, so are pavements which other animals walk on too.
  • I would ask for a clean one. :)
  • :o i thought i was the only one. re-use.
  • I sure would do what any downright red-blooded, upstanding, Redneck American would do... I'd pick that there fork up, wipe it off...take a nice clean fork from the utensil service on the unoccupied adjoining table and, of course, politely replace it with my clean-wiped floor-fallen fork. That's right, y'all, us folks down here in Alabama are thoughtful of our waiteresses, dishwashers and, yeah, that enviornment thing going on, too! It's also, like, the economy, stupid! All you Yankee ABer's askin' for new forks, 'n all, just ain't thinkin'! Bein' all prissy! Dang! :-)
  • I would just clean it off, a bit of dirt never hurt anyone and if people saw how many germs surround us everyday they would freak out.
  • 5 second rule, and why would I go to a restaurant like that? They SUCK!!
