Gladly, I can always use another one. Some of my old ones are falling to bits.
-
I would tell him/her i already have one.
-
Yeah anything given shouldnt be rejected.
-
Yes. I would then donate it to the FICTION section of my local public library.
-
Totally. Anyone that thinks a book can be offensive in and of itself has serious issues.
-
ofcourse
-
Sure ... I already have five or six different Bibles that I've used in my studies ; BUT always glad to add another in the bookcase ...
-
Of course. All gifts should be received with open arms.
-
Absolutely. If any friend gave me the Holy Bible as a gift, even if I were not a Christian I would happily accept it because it must mean that the Bible meant something special to them. The same would stand if a friend with a different faith from mine gave me an equivalent book of their religion. What a great question.
-
Sure, I would love it. I would probably ask him to get me a Devotional Bible, if it is not too expensive.
-
My best friend would not offend me by giving me a Bible - holy or not
-
Yep, then I'd burn it on youtube, just like he intended for me to do.
-
Yes, and i would burn it soon afterwards.
-
Absolutely!
-
Of course. Why wouldn't I? Should I run the risk, or fear, gaining knowledge that I didn't know? +5
-
why not-i will accept sure.5
-
Yes, I would. I would hope it was a version I didn't own yet.
-
Yes, even though I already have a couple. With love in Christ.
-
yeah but that doesn't mean i would read it.
-
yes, why wouldn't I?
-
Why are there so many 'versions'? One isn't good enough?
-
Many years ago, before I became a Christian an employer gave me one as a Christmas gift. It also had a 100 dollar bill inside and at that time I took the money, did not open it again for many years and laughed at him for giving me what I thought was a stupid gift. Well, I was wrong and that is the greatest gift you could give someone, so no, I will always love another bible. Praise God
-
Gladly.
-
You bet I would :)
-
Not if it was given with a comment like "here, you need to read this." But if for instance they said "hey, I found this really kewl old bible with great illustrations at a flea market and I thought you'd like it so I bought it for you!" then I would gladly accept it and treasure it.
-
No. I don't want that evil vile book in my home.
-
Yes. I would accept it from anyone.
-
I don't think it would happen, but if it did, I would add it to my "collection."
-
Definatly :) Its the greatest gift you can give to someone.
-
sure , but i would tell her I already have one...but if she didn't mind i could give to another or she may know of another to give to...but i would certainly tell her i appreciated the gesture...either way..:)
-
Yes, I accept gifts from friends, from strangers at times, too :-)
-
Yeah, I'd be thrilled and really touched, especially if it was a version I didn't already have. It's quite useful to have several around.
-
Depending upon who printed it, yes. I could always use another copy.
-
People around my school sometimes take it upon themselves to convert me from my hedonistic ways by giving out tiny Bibles. I still accepted them, and managed to accumulate over 100 in a 3 day span. I made a cool little Bible Fort™ out of it. Is that sacrilegious?
-
yes.
-
Certainly
-
I would accept. I've been meaning to get one as a reference book. I'd love to be able to cite ridiculous and/or contradictory passages.
-
I've been given many Bibles and have accepted them all. I have given many Bibles and they have all been accepted.
-
absolutely
-
Sure. I like to compare different versions with each other, and there are several versions I don't have.
-
Sure! Always room for more toilet paper in the house.
-
no she knows how i feel about religion
-
I'd take it, I'm always looking for new books.
-
Yes. I'd put in with my Bible and Holy Scripture collection, so that I can peruse it and study when I have the time.
-
What colour is it.
-
No, I probably would not accept it. I would tell him that I already have one and then I would pull out my iPod touch and show him the copy I carry around in it. (It was one of the first things that I downloaded for my iPod when I got it.)
-
Yes! I like the Bible.
-
Of course. Like my mother used to say: "Cogiendo nadie se pela"....meaning: "Nobody goes broke receiving things".....
-
why not, I already have a bible, a resourseful book, that can be full of interesting facts, and answers..... I did get my mums bible after she passed away, it was very well used, with a lot of names and markings along side passages, however, I passed it along to my sister, whom I felt woudl get more use out of it than me ! :)
-
sure, especially if it's a translation i do not own yet. even though there are at least a dozen bibles in our home at least, i could never turn down a bible as a gift.
-
It would depend on the context in which it was given. If it was in an effort to convert me to Christianity, no (but then, that person wouldn't really be my "best" friend, would they?). If it was in another context that had to do with my interests or our friendship then I do not see why not.
-
Yes, it's like giving me a life-preserver on a sinking ship. I'll take it!
-
Yeah, I would. It'd sit in the bookcase and probably would not be read, but sure...
-
Just owning a Bible is not enough...It must be understood and obeyed... (Matthew 28:19-20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.” Preaching WHAT? (Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. WHAT group is doing this? ALL baptised members of that group? Men and women. And not just pairs of young men. (Acts 5:42) And every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus. (Acts 20:20) while I did not hold back from telling YOU any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching YOU publicly and from house to house.
-
Yes. If my best friend felt that it was important for me to have a bible, I would accept it. I would not convert, but I certainly would accept the gift. Hopefully, it would not be a version I already have (I have a LOT of bibles in my possession).
-
yes. it would go next to my other bibles, my english translation of the quran, my book of mormon and all my other books of religion, myth and philosophy.
-
Yes I need a new Bible, the one I have been using for several years is getting little worn out!
-
Yes i will accept it and in fact i have Holy Bible in my house ,even though i am from other religion belief ,but i have read it and i respect all the religion of the world.
-
yup,,,iwill accepted..
-
yes i would i love the bible
-
two advantages in one time... Love it
-
Yes, I have various Bible versions, including other religious books from different religions.
-
No, I'm not religious and don't want it forced onto me
-
My best friends know I have one already, and they know I prefer looking at my scriptures online. I would suggest they donate it to the homeless shelter.
-
I have a number of Bibles. I have bought a few and even have them on Kindle. I have dug them out of the trash where some have tossed them. If someone gave me a Bible I would gladly accept it. If it was in good condition and not the NIV I would probably give it to someone who didn't have one. I do not care for the NIV as it was written from very poor and corrupt manuscripts, I wouldn't want to give someone an incorrect Bible.
