  • The answer is NO!
  • Please vote no. Don't write discrimination into the California state constitution.
  • I don't get to vote on this since I'm not a Californian, but if I did, I'd vote NO.
  • No way.

  • what is proposition 8?
  • Definitely NO! Gays and lesbians finally have full marriage rights in California. I'd no more want to see those rights taken away than I would want to see the descendants of former slaves or women lose their voting rights.
  • No. Here in Virginia there was a similar proposition passed by a wide margin. i dont remember the proposition but same-sex marriage is against the Virginia state constitution now, which is sad.
  • Yes. Currently in California a gay couple can marry or become a domestic partner. However, a straight couple under the age of 65 can only marry (and cannot become a domestic partner). Why should gay couples have more rights than straight couples?
  • If I was Californian: NO! What a tease! Give them "freedom" for a few months just to deny them again?! It can't be... that's the worst possible way to treat tax payers!!!
  • If I lived in California I would vote no. No way in hell. They gave homosexual marriage rights not too long ago now the bible thumping, homophobic dickheads want to take it away and take a step backwards so we can slip on the deadly banana of discrimination. Shame, California, SHAME.
  • NO, because I think everyone who pays taxes should get the same rights as everyone else.
  • Vote No on California Proposition 8: It is lead by religious groups who use fear tactics to try and strip the marriage rights from homosexual men and women. The title for this propostion is self explanitory. "Eliminates Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry" Voting yes on it is agreeing with prejiduce. Simple as that.
  • if i could vote i would no doubt vote yes. not because i want to discrimiate, its because when they start having more rights then me because their gay, thats a problem.
  • Yes. You can get the civl union thing. Why do you want to change the definition of a word? Marriage is between a man and a woman.
  • For the record, no. Here are 15 answers to that question: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/1051378

  • NO. I believe that people should have at least a legal equivalent to marriage in order to have the same property, insurance, estate, and hospital visitation rights no matter what combination of sexes they are. I can understand if organized religions do not want their members to have this right, but why not recognize that others may have differing beliefs?
  • No. A persons sexual orientation is not a matter of choice, therefore it is discrimination based on biology.
  • Even if it HAS been asked before, I still say NO. I agree with Bill Maher on this. Gay people should have the same legal rights as straight people to be miserable! ;-P
  • No. For one thing, I think it's wrong for the majority to vote on the rights of a minority group. The LGBTQ community should be allowed the same rights and privileges as everyone else. They pay taxes, too!
  • a lady was sued because she took her child out of school on the day their class was going on a field trip to a gay marriage.
