yes, too many times to count

Never once, thank goodness. I know of a foreclosed property (two years old) that was not winterized. A pipe burst and filled the basement with water. The water then froze solid and broke out the block walls. It purportedly cost $300K to rebuild the basement and clean up the moldy mess the following spring. It doesn't get any worse than that.

Thankfully never

Yes, I lived in one house that the basement flooded every year. Where I live now, the water floods our pool, and when it overflows, it floods the back of our enclosed patio.
-
I flooded our kitchen once by trying to flush a cardboard toilet paper thingy down it.
-
Only when the water pump sprung a leak.
-
Yes, a few times.
-
Not flooded, but I did have water leak in a part of my basement early in 2007.
-
Only one time did I ever have a lot of water in my basement and that was because some idiot knocked my sump pump out of allignment.

No. Fortunately for me, my house is on a 2 feet-high foundation and my lot is 3 feet above street level.

Yep, bout a month ago. We've been in this new house for about 5 months now. A pipe going from all the upstairs bathrooms backed up, came up the tub, went back out and flooded the basement! Ruined an entertainment center, drop ceiling, tv, vcr,dvd player, some games and some dvds

An earlier house did. It was awful!
-
Yes, it did.
-
Not while I've been here, but there was bad flooding in the area before I moved in and there is a river about twenty feet away, so probably.
-
the water always stopped at the street until hurricane katrina hit, afterwards we learned that the water was over the roof of our house.

G'day Mastodon, Thank you for your question. My drains are currently blocked. They will have to probably pull out my toilet to fix the problem. Regards
