Call your vet. tell them you have a case of kennel cough in a pregnant dog. Kennel cough is to dogs like the cold is to humans - meaning its pretty much the same kind of thing. What is uncommon about kennel cough unlike colds is that its like super contagious and can spread like a wild fire in a kennel of dogs - ergo the name. The medication used will be to quiet the cough and to ease the misery of the dog - just like the common cold is misery for humans. I say call your vet first so they can be better prepared to accept a dog with KC and know that they have to keep the dog isolated from others and really disinfect the exam room.
