Often when I am troubled by things, particularly personal emotional stuff. Bad thing is..that's the worst time for such music...it invariably makes me feel worse. I suppose it is as though we tend to wallow in our misery at such times, and sad music promotes this feeling.Totally normal part of any grieving process as well. The trick is to be aware of the reasons so you don't develop depression, you need to realise when it's time to get moving in your life.

Yeah, although too much of it can weight you down and kinda keep you in that "rut"...but half of my music collection is "sad" music.

I like music written in minor keys...I find them wistful, thoughtful and incredibly sweet. If you are sad you can listen to the cheeriest music and still be sad..if you are happy music isn't going to make you sad! :)

Hey, won't you play another somebody done somebody wrong song to make me feel at home While I miss my baby, while I miss my baby?

No, not much into the sad music. I prefer upbeat and classical. I guess some people would consider classical sad. There are not words to most of what I listen to, so it is open to interpretation.

All the time

Yep .. yesterday I played 'Unbreak my heart' by toni braxton for about 5 times, for no reason at all. Sad songs usually have good music. dont know why .. but i like em .
-
Well, I'm a classic country music fan and a lot of people call it depressing. I have some really, sad songs in my collection, but they are far out-numbered by upbeat music.
-
That is what every song by Staind on my iTunes is for. So I can scream, cry and pull my hair - my depression needs a physical release sometimes
