Walking in to the counter for something? Walking in and sitting down to be waited on? Waitressing? Working as cook/chef? The first one's fine. Second is questionable. Third and fourth are Icky. And you don't WANT me to do it... No toes!

Makes no difference to me. I see no reason why anyone shouldn't be served just because their feet are bare. IN the USA, even though you will be told by everyone that it is illegal or against health dept. standards that there are no bare feet allowed, there isn't one law like that on the books for any health reason. There is no reason why it should be unhealthy or unsanitary just because feet are bare. They are no cleaner or dirty than th bottoms of shoes. There isn't the danger of someone stepping one something inside a building more than outside a building.

As long as they are not on the table, it's really no different than flip flops as far as exposed feet go. I am much more worried about the people who cook the food and don't pull their hair back, or touch their hair or face then continue cooking. Now that is gross.

...I don't really see what feet have to do with eating. I mean, walking all over the places barefoot is dirty and gross, but I don't really see a correlation between that and food. Doesn't bother me. I think it looks a little strange if you fine dining, but other than that *shrug* I don't really have a problem.

Well what grosses me out is when the bare footer proceeds to sit cross legged in the restaurant booth- so the bare foot is touching the seat- I see that all the time! or their little bare foot kid is jumping up and down on the cushion or the chair- Anyone heard of transmitting athletes foot germs that way??? Yeah, its just as dirty as a bottom of a shoe and they shouldn't be allowed on the seats either! Gross!
