  • A deaf person cannot be a flight attendant. One of the jobs of a flight attendant is to communicate quickly and efficiently in emergencies with both the flight crew and the passengers. ASL (or any other countrie's variant) just doesn't lend itself to that. However, one could easily become a gate agent or other customer service representative.
  • You wouldn't be able to become a flight attendant, sadly, because many of the emergency protocols involve spoken commands between attendants, and in an emergency situation, there's no guarantee you'd be able to see to read lips and such. As for other positions... I really don't know enough about the hiring system to say. You may be able to get a position in baggage, on the tarmac, or several other places, depending on the level of customer contact and the emergency protocols in the area. (Those pesky emergency protocols!)
